We got this… meaning unapologetic black voices. We have the influence and we have the numbers. The only thing that can defeat us is us… we have to be careful not to fall into the traps. Same traps they used to co-opt/hijack what we started,
1. Identify leaders.
This movement has no leaders. It is broad, it includes a variety of black voices and ideology. Some online. Some offline. Some more visible with larger followings and some that are low key but very influential. Identifying leaders/targeting specific folks is how they attach ideology to personality. Kill/discredit the leaders, kill/discredit the movement.
2. Play on egos…
This more than anything killed Ferguson. You have not seen ego until you’ve seen a black social justice warrior get attn/facetime from any arm or extension of the system we’re fighting.
3. Create competition/distrust…
For everything. Who was mentioned? Who gets credit? Who gets invited on cable news shows? Who is doing speaking engagements. Who is putting money back in? Who is profiting, benefiting or coming up?
Not to mention the things they do to keep us caught in the moment, reacting to the 24 hours news cycle and false narratives when we should be building.
Yaaaasss I’m still on this. I’ve seen how they do.
