This is what’s been pushed as black male leadership… decades of begging, praying and marching. Name me one thing any of them have built other than a church? Where are the black institutions? How have they used their access, money and resources to foster black empowerment for anyone other than themselves? What alternatives to quick money lure of crime and a life of poverty have they created for young people?
A lot of what they call on white folks to do they aren’t even doing themselves. Calls for a Republican governor to save them… to save us? Wow. And with all the resources Rep Clay, BFL, the Urban League, the black clergy and these black faced orgs are sitting on why aren’t THEY holding a special session about what THEY can do or to fund/support real grassroots efforts instead of holding a press conference? Their response to the murder of 13 children is to grandstand, act indignant and pass the buck? One word: WEAK.
