This is really the first time in the history of this nation we have an opportunity to build our own systems and institutions… I don’t mean businesses, I mean our own media, political parties, black centered education system, our own justice system, our own financial institutions and no, I’m not talking about a capitalism, so don’t go there. Open your fucking mind, the possibilities are endless. We can paint whatever picture we want, why would we even entertain emulating the oppressor? We’re not used to being in control, taking charge or using out talents to change our circumstance. We’re used to looking at our oppressors for direction, begging from those who exploit our deaths, pain and suffering and kneeling when we should be standing. We would rather allow others to make trillions off our talents and give us scraps than use those same talents to fund change in our communities and empower ourselves. We want quick, fast and now even if its crumbs, than rolling up our sleeves and building a very different reality for generations of blacks coming behind us. We’re not moving the baton.
