The world is changing… younger blacks sense and welcome this change… and pray for high winds as the master’s house goes up in flames. I have more faith in our youth than most people over the age of 30. They’re not indoctrinated or conditioned, they haven’t been broken or compromised. Their ideology, while still being shaped, isn’t influenced by grants, wanting to be a spokes negro, a deep desire for white validation or for some white person, group or nonprofit to save us. You don’t hear much about them or where they exist. In the streets. They are motivated by one thing: survival. They are the young people who took to the streets in Ferguson, in Baltimore, in Baton Rouge. The world witnessed their fury. No amount of coopting, false narratives or creation of new words to try to make shit ain’t what it is will deter them… they are not moved by negros leaders, movement folks or actorvists who try to jump out in front of them in an attempt to diminish their rage. It still simmers underneath the surface. A slow boil. It is only a matter of time before that rage is turned against those who work to contain it.
