The ONLY thing that excites me about the 2018 midterms is that this will be the last election cycle that black leaders, candidates, movement folks, clergy, etc will be in position to sell us out. By 2020 unapologetic black media will be peaking, there won’t be anywhere to run, no place to hide. Mainstream media started phasing out black pundits the last year of Obama’s presidency. The handwriting was on the wall when NBC replaced Tamron Hall with Megan Kelly…the era of the negro whispers was over. There is no competition for unapologetic black media, the black faces of left corporate mainstream media have been silenced. Outlets like the Root are struggling while voices like Chairman Fred Hampton Jr, Phil from the Advise Show, Dr Rick Wallace, Diallo Kenyatta, Adofo Minka, Prof Black, TBA, Yvette Carnell, Tonetalks, The Black Agenda Report, Jamarl Thomas, Demetra Kaye, my own and so many others are on the rise… they are not all the same. They don’t all share the same ideology, but the one thing they all do agree, is putting the black misleadership class on blast. For the first time ever, there is no corporate alternative viewpoint in black face being shoved down our throats. For the first time ever, the black misleadership class is not being protected by the powers that be. For the first time ever, they find themselves subject to black media that will keep its foot up their asses. And not just unapologetic black media… unapologetic black media will lead the charge, but they’re gonna feel it from black twitter, black youtube, black facebook… not to mention real black owned media and social media. Black leaders are making a huge mistake not embracing unapologetic black media in these early days… We will not forget.
