SMH as I watch many of us fall into the same traps and make the same mistakes as if the past 6 years did not happen right before their eyes and/or ignore a lifetime of experiences… MLK came to the realization he integrated us into a burning house. Malcolm X warned how black leaders, celebs, athletes, activists, clergy etc are used against the struggle. Chairman Fred Hampton cautioned about the need for black political education and how the lack of would have our people fighting but not knowing what they’re fighting for and embracing the very system they’re supposed to be fighting. Fanon defined cognative dissonance, believing despite all evidence to the contrary. Nelly Fuller Jr spoke about how the system of whiteness plays all sides of an issue. I can go on and on… Black leaders at the time ignored every single warning and instead put us on the course to where we are today… because they were on the take. Malcolm spoke about this in his Letter to the Grassroots. Failure to learn from those who came before us or to heed their warnings is why we find ourselves in the position we are in today with a lot of us cheering, giving kudos and big upping controlled opposition that marched us here.
