“I used to think the role our region would play post Ferguson, was creating a new blueprint for justice and black empowerment. I saw the potential.
I was wrong. St. Louis did create a new blueprint though: what not to do. St. Louis will go down as a case study, the poster city of how leaders made a bad situation worse, exacerbated the region’s decline, widened the racial divide and riff between the community and police.
Everything we’ve seen/experienced since is a result of the Democratic establishment machine’s embrace of systemic/institutionalized racism, small thinking and a tripping down on protecting status & status quo… At any cost.”
Black faces in high places made it all possible.
