Platform update… The unapologetic black news platform has been built. As difficult was building it was, securing the platform and content being aggregated/curated from various sources is even harder. And must be funded. The time is now before new black media is censored even more so or completely shut down on social media outlets we don’t control. Most unapologetic black media/voices do not have their own platform outside of Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Instagram and other social media/content management systems that we do not own, operate or control. Thousands of video/audio files from unapologetic black media/voices are being pulled from their servers where these files are hosted. When an account is deactivated/terminated, those files are deleted, gone forever. Prof Blacktruth’s youtube channels get cancelled, hundreds of his videos embedded on our platform are gone POOF just like that. If Tariq Nasheed’s channel gets terminated, all his videos disappear, not just on youtube and not just on my platform, but everywhere on the world wide web… on every site that posted his videos and in every one of your posts that included one of his videos. Ditto for a every other unapologetic black media outlet/voice. They will tolerate unapologetic black voices thrown in the mix of millions of voices… but not when those voices start to stand out. And def not all in one centralized location. We need our own servers. Know what would happen if I flipped the switch today and launched Alt Black News? They would see which voices we’re pushing, which voices are resonating (they get stats, they know where traffic is coming from because these files are hosted on their servers), then can simply deactivate/terminate those content creators on their platforms. Delete their content.. And just like that, POOF thousands of video/audio files gone. Why would we give them a heads up, put content creators in jeopardy or subject tens of thousands of files to deletion when we don’t have our own backup servers in place or ability to host these files? This is a huge expense fam, but if everyone this post reaches contributed today we could eliminate this issue for unapologetic black media/voices. We can host old files and allow them to upload directly to our servers and bypass Facebook, Youtube, etc all together. We could also eliminate this issue for others who build unapologetic black platforms, they can access content directly from us and not have to worry about any of this.
