Woke up thinking about these Gil Scott lyrics, “You will not be able to plug in, turn on and drop out”. Reality is sinking in. Many of the means of escapism have been shut down. Excuses for mediocrity no longer work. Any black or blue won’t do. The Democrat Party is imploding. Quoting one of my FB friends, “Sanders & Biden are as clownish as Trump. Unfortunately he will be re-elected but no one is stepping up to the plate proving they can do a better job.” Voter apathy that works so well for Dem incumbents in urban areas is the same voter apathy that Trump will use to his advantage. Can’t cower or beat your base down, then expect ‘all is forgiven’ and for them to come out in support of you in huge numbers. Biden and Bernie didn’t get the memo.

These old fogies… couldn’t be more out of touch. Times changed, they haven’t. Both were built for eras gone by and are not coming back. Love or hate Trump, he’s a transformative figure, he always embraced change, good, bad or indifferent. This is the man who ushered in reality tv, a medium just as, if not more influential as the news networks. And regardless how you feel about it, the reality presidency, made possible by 8 years of Obama’s celeb presidency. This is not about ideology if it were Sanders would be winning hands down.This is about the Democrat Party moving forward, a party doubling/tripling down on repeating the same mistakes expecting diff results. The definition of insanity.
