I was listening to a commentator discuss racial relations and one thing he said really stuck out... "Black people are afraid of white people". This is so true. We'll perform, hoot and holla, huff and puff, speak 'truth' to power IN THEIR FACE AND ON THEIR PLATFORMS, stick our chests out then put ZERO follow through behind it.
We sell so many wolf tickets the opposition doesn't take us serious. I don't take us serious. How many times have we threatened "No Justice, No Peace"? Have we ever got peace? "Justice or Else" still hasn't produced an 'or else'. How many times have we seen black misleadership and movement leaders talk the talk, then join the NPIC or get funded by the very establishments we're protesting? How many times have we rallied to get someone elected talbout what they gonna do when they get in only to see them get assimilated and emasculated?
As soon as it becomes time to enforce the rhetoric, impose a real penalty or take our talents and go elsewhere black people cower. The "Aw shit, this might make me a target of white folks" slave mentality sinks in and negros start thinking consequence, real or imagined. The irony is white folks have been expecting a big bang for years... human nature.... bracing for some type of push back. They know it's coming, they just don't know which generation of negros is gonna bring it and break free.
The country is caught in a cycle... blacks square up and whites brace for impact. Then nothing happens. All that energy suppressed. It's eating this country alive.
