People get more upset that I talk about this than the fact that it is happening.. been happening and will continue to happen…
The biggest hindrance to the movement today are wolves in sheep clothing. Those who look like us, who are in elected office and other positions of power, in the movement, in the clergy, funded by white elite nonprofit orgs… they are and have always been our biggest obstacle.
Their job is to pacify us, get us to settle and to march back into the system and status quo. That’s the role they’ve played historically and the role they still play today.
They’re easy to recognize, these are the folks who have meetings with the establishment come out, tell us what was said and post photo opps but never a transcript. They are the ones who always settle for whatever crumbs are thrown our way, they never turn down the crumbs or fight for more… the people issue, but never never follow up on demands instead allowing them to fizzle out. These are the people who are funded by outside money and influence but won’t tell us who’s funding them, why they’re funding them or what they’re doing in exchange.
These are the people telling you to vote for the lessor of 2 evils, the ones who give Hillary and the Democratic Party a pass, here in St. Louis they’re the ones who exploited the murder of Michael Brown, rallied the DOJ to end the investigation, provided cover for Bob McCulloch, turned a blind eye or were complicit in municipal corruption, the ones who don’t disclose conflicts of interest… the ones selected… put in position to sabotage and thwart our efforts.
They are the biggest hindrances to progress in every urban community in the nation. Change starts with eradicating them from our communities and within the movement. We cannot fight oppressors outside our community without first fighting the oppressors with black faces within.
