Not a fan of the Oscars. Not a fan of Kevin Hart. The only reason I’m chiming in is because a lot of us still don’t get it. This isn’t about homophobia or old tweets. Kevin Hart built a career off gay stereotypes/caricatures on the big screen from wearing a dress, to kissing the Rock to being shown on one of his movie posters braiding Will Ferrell’s hair. This is about them getting you whenever they feel like getting you, for whatever reason they deem. An apology ain’t gonna save you. Settling lawsuits ain’t gonna save you. Paying off those propped up to speak out against you ain’t gonna save you. When they decide you’re done, you’re done.<br><br>We’ve seen this happen time and time again. And it will keep happening because we would rather roll the dice, go along to get along and sit comfortably on the gravy train til it jumps the track than build our own. <br><br>If black celebs choose to endure these public negro wake up calls over building, then so be it.
