Violent Sunday leaves 1 dead, 5 shot in St. Louis City

The City of St. Louis witnessed a violent Sunday with four people wounded and one female dead.

When you allow rich white developers like Paul Mckee to rape, rob & pillage North St. Louis by secretly buying thousands of properties that are allowed to go into derelict state and cause blocks and blocks of blighted neighborhoods with impunity… when entire school districts that serve black students are allowed to lose accreditation and money/resources that should have gone to fix those schools is instead diverted to white suburban schools, when an increase in minimum wage is rescinded, when your public transportation system that primarily serves black people is allowed to become a haven for violence, even murder, when a minor weed transaction or ‘stealing’ a box of cigarillos is a death sentence while the punishment for stealing millions from community college/embezzling millions from companies and awarding cronies fat contracts is probation or a slap on the wrist. When their behavior, often a result of dire circumstances forced upon them is criminalized, orgs like Deaconess , Better Family Life and Urban League exploit these circumstances and those who created the circumstances escape accountability that sends a powerful message… which is why more and more young people don’t think they’ll live to reach the age of 21. Why we’re feeling the sting of 13 children being shot & killed since summer and why a mother of one of the victims said she would rather her son die at the age of 7 than see these circumstances turn her son into a murderer.
