I guess I’ma have to be the asshole,
Here’s the thing fam, for every action, there is a reaction. Our reaction to every slight is the same march, pray or vote, none of which is effective but the audacity of it all still annoys the hell out the dominant society.
History has shown us what the dominant society will do… Everyday life experiences show us what the dominant society will so. Every day we poke the bear with no plan
for what happens when the bear strikes back. For example, there was no plan for the $2 min wage cut that came after protesters were elected to political office. We got so caught up cheering, we got caught slipping when the bear struck back.
#archsowhite is no different. There will be retaliation. There’s always retaliation, generally against the community… a tax, a minimum wage decrease, excessive ticketing, overpolicing, underpolicing…
And for what? A 2nd ribbon cutting ceremony designed to make black people feel included after the fact? And you took this stance at noon, not at/during the VP Fair when it would have been most impactful… oops I meant Veiled Prophet Fair… they don’t even hide it anymore. If you’re gonna take a stance that all black St. Louis can potentially get bent over for, make it count.
And again, for what? You were slighted when it mattered. A day later you want credit for??? The status quo Dems are already gone, already moved on. Really this is a moot issue, they did what they did… and your response is rally folks a day later? Yeah, that’ll show them.
Being omitted from the first photo is the least of it, some question whether you were even in the room and if so, how did you not know? How did they get this off? And if you weren’t in the room, how they get this off without you? What else are they getting off without you? We already know the Arch is so white. St. Louis is so white. The question is, where were you?
