I am from a military family. On both sides. My mother and father both served. Aunts and uncles served. Even my grandfather. I know the sacrifice black soldiers made to serve this country only to be treated like 2nd class citizens. I fight today in memory of their sacrifice, for black conscientious objectors, for those who stood down this last election cycle rather than disrespect the sacrifices of our ancestors by giving their votes away and getting nothing in return. We owe black soldiers, those who wear/wore the uniform and those who fought/fight for black liberation. Our fight is not over.
