Easier said that done, I know… at a minimum it starts with the understanding of what change will require and a commitment to make it happen. Yes there will be naysayers, those who tell us what we can’t do, what we’re too poor to do, that we will never unite, that voting is the solution, that we need more black faces in high places, that the Dem party is the solution, that we need another boys & girls club, an increase in minimum wage, school busing… they will say we need more police, more black officers… I can go on and on, the list is endless and does not include anything that empowers us or changes our circumstance. Nothing that allows us control or even to push back. And from people who look like us who push plantation politics over political education. We have to mobilize against them.
