Brian Taylor responding to criticism about Black Lives Matter Cincinnati changing its name and publicly explaining the reasons why… “If you read the things done to actual fighters and families and actually care… or if you knew any of them, you would know that this is part of setting the record straight and preventing a destructive force from continuing its misleadership by opening up a public discussion on things that have actually hurt the movement. So, in that way it actually IS like the statements we did around the women’s march. Once again, instead of thinking about why it’s important to expose these things that have left people dead and without justice, it seems you just want to try tell people how and why to rename ourselves. Still not listening. Still not taking the points raised seriously. Still poo pooing BIG deal offenses in the name of “all getting along.” This is the part where people get exhausted and stop trying to engage you. All the fights ahead, from Stephon Clark on depend on us charting a different course from what is nationally being pushed. This requires debate, discussion and clarity.”
