Thank you Terry
A lot of y’all been following us since the uprising in 2014… y’all tune in like this is a reality show, entertainment. Shit is real. This work comes with consequence.
There are many, many, many, many, MANY stories that have yet to be told.
St. Louis does not have many unapologetic black voices. Dick Gregory is dead. Onion Horton dead. Lizz Brown dead. Darren Seals murdered. There are very few, if any that will risk their lives and livelihoods to speak truth to power.
I am one person. I speak for those who don’t have a voice. No only does that involve speaking against the system, it also involves holding our own accountable… black faces in high places who wouldn’t spit on me if I was on fire.
When I rang the alarm back in 2014 about the need for our own media, social media and urban think tanks it was for these very reasons.
Clicking likes and sharing posts ain’t gonna get it done, especially in this environment where Facebook, Twitter and Youtube are silencing dissent. We are on borrowed time.
If you’re not gonna support, not gonna contribute or donate, not gonna sacrifice and keep treating our struggles like fodder for social media these stories won’t get told, these mysterious deaths will keep happening, as will the deaths at the hands of the police… and nothing will change. This time next year y’all will still be here clicking likes, sharing posts and 😭 talking about “What we gon do?”
Piss or get off the fucking pot.
