A lot of people think change is as simple as removing one person from office and replacing them with another… if only we had more black elected leaders, if only more black people voted… Kill the noise with all that… We removed people from office here, replaced them with leaders out of the protest movement… the result? $2 decrease in minimum wage. An alderman out of the protest movement voted with police for the passage of Prop P which taxed the community to pay for more aggressive policing… this is what happens when you send goldfish to swim with sharks. In some of these races we have people who were the problem, who went along to get along, who turned a blind eye to municipal corruption running for elected office… who we are expected to support simply because they’re black, nevermind they were black when they went along to get along. Its bigger than replacing white faces with black faces… if that’s all it took the region would have been transformed by black police chief, public safety director, circuit attorney, president of board of aldermen, numerous aldermen, state senators, state reps, etc… the majority of which either were appointed by white people or endorsed by white people.. We tried this… look around, it doesn’t work. They know it doesn’t work but its their job… None of them will tell you this, given a choice between what’s best for them and what’s best for the community their livelihood will win out every time…
